Who we are.

Founded in 2019, the Meridian Library Foundation raises funds to support the capital needs of the Meridian Library District. As Meridian grows, we help ensure the library provides welcoming, high-quality spaces that meet the diverse needs of our expanding community.

The Meridian Library Foundation raises funds to support the Meridian Library District, ensuring access to resources, literacy, and lifelong learning.

Mission.

The mission of the Meridian Library Foundation is to support the growth and sustainability of the Meridian Library District by raising funds to ensure equal access to information, resources, and public spaces. Through philanthropic partnerships, the Foundation supports improvements that promote literacy, work readiness, and lifelong learning. Guided by our values of access, community, education, and integrity, we are dedicated to enhancing library services and ensuring the library remains a vital resource for all.

Projects.

Since 2019, with the generous support of community members, local businesses, and grantmakers, the Meridian Library Foundation has funded numerous impactful projects, including:

  • Orchard Park: Sensory Room, Early Literacy Installations & toys, iPads & laptops, Wellness Room, and general construction.
  • unBound Technology Library: 3D printers, laser engravers, audiovisual boards, and podcasting equipment.
  • Pinnacle: Teen Lounge, Wellness Room, Early Literacy toys & puppets, outdoor children’s patio with toys, art, furniture, and live plants for the Adult Lounge and Study Rooms.
  • Bookmobile: New materials, games, food/hygiene pantry items, and Bookmobile repairs, service, and cleaning.
  • District-wide: Nearly $100,000 for children’s books, new puzzles & board games; healthy afterschool snacks; partial funding for a new home delivery vehicle; and securing sponsorships for the Meridian Library Summer Reading Program.

Additionally, the Foundation proudly supported our community’s first-ever Meridian Children’s Book Festival in 2024, coordinated by the Meridian Library District. We also helped the district celebrate its centennial anniversary by creating Figaro Adoption Kits and a History Walk.

Our Vision

The Meridian Library Foundation is a catalyst for creating a stronger community through investment in the Meridian Library District — where access to resources supporting literacy, work readiness and lifelong learning ensure equal opportunities for success. We raise funds to support the spaces that ignite curiosity & cultivate connections while honoring our patrons and donors.

Our Values

Access: Ensuring opportunities for all to access information, literacy, learning and innovative technology.

Community: Cultivating meaningful relationships in our community to partner with in advocacy and philanthropy.

Education: Creating spaces that promote lifelong learning, personal discovery and opportunities for all.

Integrity: Being responsible & transparent stewards of the community and the resources that are provided to us.

As a private nonprofit, the Foundation seeks private donations from various sources, including those available only to 501(c)(3) organizations. We also develop sound investment strategies to maximize the long-term impact of each gift. Contributions support enhancements and improvements that are beyond the library’s annual operating budget. You can play a vital role in shaping the library’s future. For more information on giving opportunities, please contact Executive Director Eryn Turner at 208-888-4451 x1015 or eryn@supportmld.org.

Awards.

The Meridian Library Foundation was honored to have been recognized as the Best Philanthropic Organization of the Year at the Meridian Chamber of Commerce's 2023 Small Business Awards. Stewardship, financial transparency, integrity, and meeting the needs of our library district and community continue to be our top priorities.
